Natural hair routine for postpartum hair

I’m currently obsessed with my hair right now. I’m a wash and go girl, and prefer naturals, so I appreciate the perspective that encouraging healthy hair with good, natural ingredients and no fuss is the best way to shine.

I’m learning how to do the Curly Girl Method. Have you heard of it yet? The book was written back in the 90s, but for some reason it went from a trend to mainstream popularity.

Curly Girl is the surprising bible for the 65 percent of women with naturally curly or wavy hair and a desire to celebrate it. Even if you have straight hair now, if you start the Curly Girl regimen, you might be surprised to find that you actually do have natural curls. I had no idea my natural hair is so curly! I’m 4 months in and totally shocked!

There are SO many variations to the basic steps in the CG method. In fact, you can obsess as much as you want to or just keep it simple. Search on Youtube tutorials and join a curly girl group on Facebook for some social troubleshooting.

Everyone’s scalp and hair is different, so routines and products that work me might not work for you. I’m just a white girl with wavy hair and I’m trying to figure out what works for me. You gotta figure out what works for you. That’s what is exciting about the Curly Girl. No one can do this trial and error for you because no one knows your hair like you do. Experiment!

Word of caution:

Experimenting with the Curly Girl Method gave me so much confidence and authority over my hair. Learn at your own risk. 😉
